Population Distribution
Most of the population is around the coasts. The highest density of people in Australia is in the east and southeast. In and around Perth, Australia in the west, is a secondary population. New South Wales has the largest population out of all the states and territories in Australia. Sydney, Australia is located inside New South Wales and is its capital. Sydney is the most populous city in Australia, with a population of around 5.23 million people living in the city today, despite not being Australia's capital.
